We had a great 40th Reunion filled with a lot of activities. We started Friday with a sit down dinner, followed by a dance that broke up at 1:00 AM Saturday. There was a Silent Auction where posters and mementos from the the 60s were auctioned.
On Saturday we had a memorial service in memory of our 14 fallen classmates which touched the hearts of everyone who attended. There was not a dry eye in the place. This service has been described as the "heart and Soul" of our reunion.
The rest of Saturday found a lunch at the Princess Cafe in downtown Iowa Falls, a walking tour from the Old High school to downtown, and a tour of the new museum housed in the old Carnegie library. Saturday afternoon we had a wine and cheese tasting party and Saturday night was filled with fireworks.
Sunday morning found the class of 1969 on the Iowa River enjoying a great view with perfect weather and also enjoying a continental breakfast sponsored by TLC of Palmetto, Florida.
On Sunday there was a picnic in Foster Park where again we ate and had a chance to visit with our classmates. Those who attended, had a wonderful time and each activity was memorable. While we were in town people were commenting on the Des Moines Register coverage.
As photographs and memories are collected from the Reunion we will post them here, so stayed tuned...!!

FROM PAULA STURTZ (Lillis little sister) I want to express my deepest gratitude to my sister, Lilli Southerly Lanser, and the IFHS Class of ’69 Reunion attendees for your donations to the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk, which I am participating in this November in Phoenix. The 3-Day Walk benefits the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust, funding important breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment. Your donations of $352 were made in honor and support of your classmate, Marlys Rush Tanner. Marlys so wanted to attend the 40th reunion, but was unable to do so because she is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Marlys will directly benefit from your donations, as she can use the resources of Susan G. Komen for the Cure to assist her through her treatment and recovery. I am flying out to stay with Lilli and walking with our team “Don’t Steal Second Base” in the Breast Cancer 3-Day November 13-15th. I’m still a little short of the $2300 required so that that I can participate in the walk. If you are interested in making a donation or learning more about the walk, please go to: http://www.the3day.org/goto/Paula.Sturtz Thank you again, Class of ‘69 for your generosity! I so enjoyed being a special guest at your reunion; it was awesome!
