Biographical Information:
After graduating from UNI with a degree in German and English, I taught English for two years in northern Germany. I returned to the US and married Pat, my husband of 32 years. I taught German and English at a high school in east central Illinois for four years. Returning to Iowa Falls in late 1979, Pat started in sales for Stockdale's Corp. and Daniel was born in February 1980. Allison was born in August 1983. I did substitute teaching at IFHS during this time. In 1987 I returned to UNI to get my Spanish endorsement. After teaching Spanish at Ellsworth College for two years, I took over for Carmen Hammerberg at IFHS in the fall of 1990. I mainly taught Spanish, but did have the opportunity to teach German for four years before it was phased out at IFHS. May 31, 2006, I retired from the classroom after thirty years in education. Plans are to visit Allison more often, who lives and works in Chicago, do some volunteering at school and in the community, tend to the needs of my elderly parents, play golf, read lots of books, and travel to new places, sometimes for pleasure and other times for mission work in third world countries. On Dec. 6, 2005, my son Daniel, died at the age of 25. This has been a great tragedy for our family. This is an update on my life!
