Just as we began high school in 1966, Coupe Deville also got its start in 1966 when two sophomores at Clinton High School got together a quartet. After several mutations, they called themselves “The Jon Crook Band.” This band evolved into “Coupe Deville, ‘The Cadillac of Rock & Roll’”.
Their first album was released in 1984, they released 4 new CDs in 2007, and they are still touring in 2009!
The current band lineup includes the original members Jim Clark, Bob Coon, Jon Crook along with the newest member "Lumpy" J. Williams (A.K.A. Dr Rock). They have opened for Del Shannon, The Crickets, Gary Lewis, The Shirelles, Buddy Knox, and Johnny Rivers, and they have played the legendary ballrooms of Iowa: The Surf, Col, Laramar, Val Aire, Lakeside, Matters, Fairyland and Hollyhock in Minnesota.
One of the highlights of their career as a band was their induction into the Iowa Rock-n-Roll Music Association "Hall of Fame" in 2001.
The Iowa Falls Class of 1969 joins them in their continuing efforts to keep the oldies from fading away by introducing them to you at our 40th Reunion Dance.
They provided music which contributed to a fantastic evening. If you get a chance visit their website at www.coupedeville.com and listen to their music, read their reviews and comments page.
Get ready to rock on July 3rd!
