Mini-Reunion

This group of older and wiser members of the Class of '69 spent the weekend of 27-28 January 2007 in the Coralville (Iowa City) area getting re-acquainted. The High School web site has a stated purpose, "...of facilitating re-connecting." And served as an impetus to this gathering To date the response to the web site has been phenomenal. There have been over 3,000 visits to the web site, over 50 classmates have registered and nearly $500 has been raised to help cover the cost of the site. The web site helped these classmates re-connect and resulted in
"mini-reunion." |
| Six of the group (Robert, Tom, Marcus, Colleen, Mary and
Mary) "hung out" during high school and participated in a lot of shared
activities. Somewhere after graduation Robert dropped out of sight for
awhile as he was traveling around the world with the Navy. He managed to
get back for a couple of reunions, but missed more than he made. The
others stayed in frequent contact. The weekend was great. Although the weather in Iowa was frightful (near 0 degrees) - our hearts were warmed with friendship. If I might add an editorial comment - my hope is that this is a beginning, and that we can get together more often than once every 37 years.
