| IOWA FALLS - Edith Mae Mott, 87, of Iowa Falls, died Friday January
31, 1997, at Scenic Manor Nursing Home in Iowa Falls. Services
were held Tuesday, Feb. 4 at Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls with
burial in Linwood Park Cemetery, Boone. Rev Lynn Spencer-Smith
officiated. Edith was born December 28, 1909, in Boone, to George and
Alta Baker Mott. She and her family moved to a farm North of Alden
in 1917, four years later to Dows where she graduated from High School.
She attended the University of Northern Iowa, and received a teaching
degree. She taught in several country schools before moving
to Iowa falls where she taught fifth grade at Central School until
retiring in 1976. She was a member of the First Congregational
United Church of Christ in Iowa Falls ad the Retired Teachers
Association of Iowa. Edith enjoyed teaching and children.
Survivors include two brothers, Harold Mott and wife
Amber of Plymouth, Indiana,
and Victor Mott and wife Evelyn of Alden; a sister-in-law, Lois Mott of
Strawberry Point; a niece, Pamela Mott OF Plymouth, Indiana and five
nephews, Jerry Mott of Norfolk, VA, Larry Mott of Texas, Craig and
Timothy Mott of Iowa Falls, and Theodore Mott of Alden. She was
preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Dale and Ernest Mott;
and a niece, Kristie Mott.

of Iowa Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
