Biographical Information:
The day after graduation Dave Oppold and I went to Colorado for a week and then I worked that summer at Weaver Construction. I attended college at Michigan Tech in Houghton Michigan and received an Associates degree in Civil Engineering. After college I hung around the U.P. for a year working and then off to Wyoming/Montana to work for Jim Weaver a couple years. I returned to Iowa in 1976 and got a real estate license and worked for a realtor in Waterloo for a year but didn't like it. I worked for two contractors in the area until fall of 1979. My interests at that time were playing music and some community theatre. I had an opportunity to work in Omaha, Nebraska on a major pipeline project in the right of way department due to my experience with construction and real estate. I spent three years in Omaha then I was transferred to the field in Williston and Bismarck North Dakota. I had met Margo in Cedar Falls and she went with me on this adventure. We returned to Cedar Falls for a year where I worked for a survey company and played in a local band. I then had an opportunity to go to Colorado to work in the oil and gas sector and we lived for two years in Greeley Colorado and we enjoyed our time there. Things got a little rocky at work and I ended up taking a job in Aurora Illinois in September 1985 doing real estate consulting for AT&T. Margo and I were married in the Little Brown Church in the Vail in Nashua Iowa on October 18, 1986. We lived in Aurora and I pursued my interest in blues music in the greater Chicago area. The mother lode. In early 1990 this job played out and I was fortunate enough to get my current job with Lake County buying land to widen the congested roads. The job has been ideal for me with my early years in the road construction business and real estate training. We moved to Kenosha Wisconsin in March of 1991 and have lived there ever since. My job with Lake County meant I didn't have to travel for work so I was able to pursue my blues guitar hobby. which I did. I had a lot of fun with it. After I turned 50 I started to get interested in other things and now I still play but not so much. I like to play golf, read and travel some. We have been to Ireland a couple times and went to Italy this year. I have enjoyed the reunions and the e-mails and this website. Thanks to everybody who is making it possible. Chuck. |
